Thank you Carnegie

After 6 years in Carnegie at the Carnegie Stage, the Pittsburgh New Works Festival (PNWF) is moving on.

What a fantastic time we’ve had in Carnegie – a wonderful community that has become a jewel in Western Pennsylvania!

But most especially we’ll miss the people of Carnegie who welcomed us with open arms into their community.

Thanks to former Mayor Jack Kobistek for his support (and his second job directing traffic into the open parking lot on theater days), Bob Podurgiel who wrote complimentary articles about our festival and became a friend, Marlene Pendleton (M) who lent her commercial space last year so one of our companies could hold rehearsals, Joanne Letcher of the Carnegie Community Development Corporation for her support, Phil Salvato’s 3rd Street Gallery where we inaugurated our Original Play Reading Series, Hilerie Klein Rensi and Higher Voice Studio, home of last year’s Pittsburgh New Works’ auditions, Maggie Forbes and the Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall where several PNWF events occurred, the Carnegie Coffee Company, home to many PNWF meetings and Hans and Ginny Gruenert and Erika Cuenca for letting us play at Carnegie Stage.

Although we won’t be back en masse in Carnegie, you’ll see many of us in town continuing to enjoy Riley’s Pour House, LeoGreta, jazz at Carnegie Library and more.

Thanks for a great run!

On behalf of the Pittsburgh New Works Festival,

Claire DeMarco
